Simon Cowell on Jamie Archer: I let him down
Sunday, 15th November 2009
X Factor judge Simon Cowell confessed to rocker wannabe Jamie Archer that he felt he had 'let him down' just minutes after his act was booted off the show.
33 year-old Archer received the fewest votes from viewers and after the four X Factor judges were deadlocked in their decision to send either him or Welsh pop cutie Lloyd Daniels home, it was the public vote that mattered.
A clearly disappointed Simon Cowell rushed on stage to console Jamie, saying that he felt really sorry to lose him.
"I let him down probably with the song choice," he said. "But it's just one of those things."
Jamie wasn't too downhearted though, declaring: "It's not the end, it's the beginning.
"I just want to thank everyone who supported me."
It was Archer's first time in the bottom two, and although he arguably sang better in the sing-off, he was forced off the show into seventh place.
Six acts remain - Lloyd, Olly Murs, Stacey Solomon, Joe McElderry, Danyl Johnson and the ever-amusing-to-watch twins John and Edward.
Joining them on the X Factor stage next week are Mariah Carey and Susan Boyle.
