Louis Walsh won't be appearing on tonight's first ever live X Factor Sunday night results show following the death of Boyzone singer Stephen Gately.
One of Louis' representatives said: "To confirm Louis will not be appearing on tonight's X Factor as he is very shocked and exceptionally upset.
"He thanks you all for the messages of support at this sad time."
The Irish judge has spoken of his devastation at hearing about the sudden death of 33 year-old Gately who was holidaying in Majorca when he died suddenly yesterday afternoon.
Walsh - who became good friends with the star as he managed the band's rise to fame throughout the 90s, said: “We’re all absolutely devastated.
"I’m in complete shock. I was only with him on Monday at an awards ceremony.”
Reports suggested Walsh would appear as a judge in tribute to Gately but this was quickly denied.
The four remaining members of the band Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy, Shane Lynch and Mikey Graham are travelling to Majorca later today, according to the band's tour website.
Walsh, however, will not be joining them.
Police investigating the star's death believe there were "no signs of suspicious circumstances" after he died at 1.45pm yesterday in his house in Port Andratx, Majorca.
