Kandy Rain - X Factor 2009
Friday, 9th October 2009.
It was a joyous occasion for Simon Cowell as four ex-strippers in the form of Kandy Rain stepped onto the stage to audition for the X Factor.
They declared their aim of being the UK’s answer to Pussycat Dolls, and in their sexy PVC outfits, didn’t sound all that bad.
The all-girl group from London is made up of Chemmane Applewhite, CoCo Lloyd, Azi Jegbefume, and Khatereh Dovani.
They formed 12 months ago and the name Kandy Rain comes from ‘candy as much as you love it, you know it’s not good for you’ and ‘we're going to rain on everyone's parade'. Ooookay!
Hello girls...
Irish-born model Azi lives just outside London with her best friend. She’s 25.
Coco 22, is studying a part-time law degree and lives on her own in central London.
24 year-old Khatereh works in a beauty salon owned by her mum and also lives in Central London.
Chemmane is 26 and works as a children’s dance teacher. She lives with her family in Basingstoke.
So that’s Kandy Rain in a nutshell, though I’m sure we’ll find out lots more in the next few weeks.
