Another bad week sees Girlband booted
Sunday, 19th October 2008.
Bristol babes Girlband became the second act voted off this year's X Factor last night, leaving Louis Walsh with just one group left in the competition.
The girls have had a tough time on this year's show, narrowly escaping being the first booted off last week when a decisive public vote meant Geordie foursome Bad Lashes got the chop.
And they fell foul of the public vote again this week when the four judges failed to reach a unanimous decision as to who should leave between them and Spanish singer Ruth Lorenzo.
Girlband and Ruth had failed to wow the judges earlier in the show and the public wasn't bowled over by their performances either.
So it was left for them both to sing for survival.
Girlband held hands as they stepped onto the stage to sing Don't Wanna Miss A Thing by Aerosmith, whilst Ruth opted for Purple Rain, her "favourite song in the world".

An emotional performance from Girlband coupled with a breathtaking performance from Ruth meant the judges didn't find their decision easy.
As Girlband's mentor, Louis voted to send home Ruth.
Dannii chose 'her beautiful Ruth' to stay and send Girlband home.
Cheryl said, "Ruth absolutely nailed it, so I'm going to have to send home Girlband.
Simon wavered greatly and said, "Ruth, you didn't play to your strengths. I'm going to take this to deadlock".
Then Dermot O'Leary announced Girlband as the act with the absolute fewest public votes, leaving their mentor Louis Walsh with London lads JLS as his sole representative in the competition.
Louis said: "They sang their hearts out, they did their best." Girlband's Tita added: "I'm so happy we even got this far".
