Bad Lashes - X Factor 2008
Monday, 6th October 2008
Bad Lashes are a four piece girl group from the North East, aged 19 - 23. Let's meet the girls.
21 year old Sam Bennett from Durham thought she had a toilet voice until her mum and friends had a listen and persuaded her to try out for Bad Lashes.
Sam reckons she's the member of the band with who lacks the most confidence but the rest of the girls claim she’s the loud one!
But regardless what Sam thinks her confidence and voice is growing every time she performs with the Bad Lashes girls and their strong friendship should see the group go far.
Sam's bandmate, 20 year-old Stacey Lincoln is something of an X Factor veteran, having auditioned for the first ever series when she was just 16 but the judges thought she was too young and too nervy.
She was never going to let this affect her confidence though, so had another stab, this time as part of Bad lashes. And it's paid dividends!
Stacey is really excited about their possible X Factor journey and what it may hold. She is also known as the sweet one of the band.
The only band member not to hail from Durham, Hartlepool girl Sophie Wilson met the rest of the band at theatre school and bonded with them straight away.
Her grandad was a singer in his day and Sophie believes he's her inspiration and the source of her musical talent.

She sings jazz in clubs in her local area and once even sang in a Memorial Day Choir in front of The Queen at the Royal Albert Hall.
Sophie describes herself as the chatty one of the group.
Last but not least is another Durham girl, Emily MacNamee, who is a self-starter having opened her own cafe and coffee shop which her mum is running while she's starring in the live finals.
Emily auditioned for The X Factor as a solo artist and made the final 30 two years ago but felt she'd do better as part of a band and had the idea to put Bad Lashes together, immediately enlisting her best mate Sam.
She then asked Stacey to join them and also contacted her theatre school friend, Sophie. Emily is known as the flirty one of the group, so lads, beware!
What do you think of Bad Lashes? Have they got what it takes?
