Spanish songstress Ruth Lorenzo is a 25 year-old PR executive who now lives in Surrey.
Music has been at the forefront of Ruth's life since she was young... doctors tipped her for a musical life when she screamed loudly during her birth in the South East of Spain.
Singing was instilled in Ruth from an early age when she would sing along to the film Annie even though she didn't understand any of the words.
Ruth's mum bought her the album of Spanish opera singer Monserat Caballet when she was six and it was then Ruth turned her attention to singing classical music.
When her family moved to the USA when Ruth was twelve, she continued singing in school productions of My Fair Lady and Phantom of the Opera and she even had singing and dancing lessons.
But financial difficulties saw the family move back to Spain and meant Ruth had to give up her singing lessons.
Undeterred, Ruth switched her singing style and joined a rock band when she was 19, touring Spain with them for three years.
She is still dating the guitarist from the band, Juanma and the duo both work at Polaris World performing... until now that is, as Ruth takes the plunge for the live x Factor finals.
