Timmy Mallett

Time up for Timmy Mallett and Esther Rantzen

Monday, 1st December 2008.

Two jungle celebrities left camp last night leaving just half of the original campers to battle it out for King or Queen of the Jungle.

First to leave was Timmy Mallett, who had to do battle with Brian Paddick for survival in a revolting eating and drinking trial.

But the former TV presenter failed to keep up with Paddick's speed in consuming the various dodgy dishes on offer, so had to leave the show immediately.

He was upbeat in his post-vote-off interview though.

"Fair game to Brian, I was beaten in battle and I’m comfortable with that," sighed Timmy.

Brian, on the other hand went back to camp whimpering after Timmy had grabbed his arm during the trial.

"Good, I hope it hurt!” Timmy sniggered as Ant and Dec showed him the damage he'd done on the ex-policeman’s arm.

"I didn’t even know it was his arm. I thought it was the bench or something."
And whilst he didn't care that much for Brian, Timmy had taken a liking to another highly-talked-about camper.

"I’m very fond of David,” he said. "I’m delighted we went into camp together because that relationship was a real bed rock for me."

"There were so many things to laugh at... It was so lovely."

I'm A Celebrity reject

So that was that, but it wasn't long before Esther Rantzen joined him as an I'm A Celebrity reject.

Losing out in the public vote at the end of last night's show, Esther said: "I’m feeling very sorry to leave because they are such lovely people and the whole environment is so gorgeous, but I think it’s the right moment."

She spoke about her fondness for a certain Mr Swash too...

"He is incredibly tactile,” grinned Esther whilst watching some of the pair’s fun flirting footage.

"Without words he can create this wonderful warmth. And if he feels that something’s wrong, he really goes for it."

"Every now and then people would gang up on an individual. It took little Joe to hold up a mirror and I feel very inadequate that I couldn’t do that. But he broke through."

Ahh, very touching, but hardly a Marc Bannerman-Cerys Matthews affair is it?
