Ricky Whittle finds the Strictly Hollyoaks juggle tough

Strictly Come Dancing favourite Ricky Whittle is finding life difficult doing the hit dance show as well as his day job on Hollyoaks.
The actor has to spend up to 12 hours a day filming scenes for the Chester-based soap and has admitted fitting in time to train for the BBC’s ballroom dance show is starting to take its toll.
He told new! Magazine: “It’s the hardest thing I have ever had to do! I’m constantly shattered, but it’s great fun.”
The 27 year-old - who plays ex-cop Calvin Valentine in Hollyoaks - is currently going out with co-star Carley Stenson.
The actress pops down to London now and again to watch Ricky dance on the live Saturday night shows but being apart from each other for long periods is something the glamorous pair is used to.
“We are always apart because our characters never mix,” added Ricky. “It is tough, but she is such an amazing girl.
“She’s been down three times now. She is so supportive. All of my family and friends have been.”
Ricky has just signed a new contract with Channel 4 and is set to feature in a juicy upcoming storyline.
But he reckons that even if he or Carley were ever to leave the soap, they’d be as strong as ever.
“Everyone has ambitions and dreams, and what is meant to be will be,” he said. “I love her to bits and what we do work-wise won’t change anything.”
Ricky is the current odds-on favourite to win Strictly with professional partner Natalie Lowe.
