Linda Evans reigns in Hell's Kitchen
Monday, 28th April 2009.
Ex-Dynasty star Linda Evans is the winner of Hell's Kitchen, beating comic Ade Edmondson to the fiery crown.
The American actress impressed fearsome head chef Marco Pierre White and viewers alike throughout the 16-day show.
Michelin-starred chef White spent almost 3 weeks training Linda, Ade and 6 the other celebrities, including ex-footballer Bruce Grobbelaar and TV host Anthea Turner.
The final saw Evans and Edmondson cook for White and fellow Michelin star-winner Raymond Blanc.
"It was nerve-wracking cooking for Raymond Blanc, because you know he's Raymond Blanc," said Edmondson.
"It's a bit like being at school and going to see the headmaster and showing him your work."
When announced as the series' winner, Evans was visibly surprised, having begun her time on the show barely understanding everyone’s British accents (except Bruce of course).
Earlier in the series, Shameless actor Jody Latham, Turner and her husband Grant Bovey were sacked by White, while rapper Niomi McLean-Daley, aka Ms Dynamite, and model Danielle Bux were evicted by public vote.
Former Liverpool goalkeeper Bruce Grobbelaar resigned from the show because he was missing his wife and had also been affected by the 20th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster.
Gordon Ramsay, who appeared in the first series of Hell’s Kitchen, now stars in the US version of the show.
