Emmerdale Awards snub fury

There was more than a little disappointment at the Inside Soap Awards last night as Emmerdale walked off empty handed.
Northern rivals Coronation Street landed five awards whilst capital-based EastEnders once again cleaned up, with seven gongs.
Nick Miles, who plays Emmerdale's newest dad Jimmy King, labelled the annual awards in London an insult as his show didn't even make the shortlist for many awards.
The 47 year old said: “Once again not one Emmerdale Best Actor/ Actress nomination and once again I can’t help feeling insulted on behalf of my mates.
"We’re never on the cover (of Inside Soap magazine). It’s known as the Walford Gazette round here.
"After six years, enough is enough."
Enders' Lacey Turner picked up Best Actress for the fourth time for her performance as Bipolar-suffering Stacey Branning.
Complete fix
Although even Corrie stars were feeling glum as the Albert Square gang walked off with the trophy for best soap.
Weatherfield's Brooke Vincent, who plays Sophie Webster, said: “It’s a complete fix. I can’t believe they’ve won again.”
Katherine Kelly - who plays the Street’s hilarious Becky McDonald - was a little more subtle: “They may have won loads of awards but all I’ll say is look at the viewing figures. We’re the real winners.”
But Gemma Merna from Hollyoaks (who won just one award) was full of optimism: “It’s a shame Hollyoaks doesn’t get more recognition but we’re all working hard. There’s always next year.”
