Adele Silva is a wine buff
Wednesday, 10th September 2008.
Ex-Emmerdaler Adele Silva has launched her own limited edition selection of wines as part of a new reality show.
Mistress Of The Vine is a new internet-only series that follows the former soap babe as she learns how to create the perfect wine.
In the show, Adele travels to France an
d Italy and is taught the basics of wine and how to blend her own range by wine giant Constellation Europe's Master of Wine, Philip Goodband.
Her wines were released under the Stowells brand umbrella on 3rd September at Thesher's off-licences.
The entire concept of Adele's internet show is part of campaign to help demystify wine for female consumers and drive awareness of the Stowells brand.
First for the wine industry
A celebrity-created blend for a major wine brand is a remarkable first for the UK wine industry, so Adele is understandanbly delighted.
She told The Retford Times: "I keep pinching myself. It was a really long process, because obviously you can't make wine overnight, but I know I could say to my girlfriends now, 'Oh, come round and I can crack open a bottle of my wine'."
Adele became associated with food and drink association by appearing in last Autumn's Hell's Kitchen reality cooking show on ITV1.
The 27 year-old became famous for playing Kelly Windsor in Emmerdale from 1993 onwards.
She made an emotional exit from the ITV1 soap last year.
