Barbara Windsor has a showbiz future after EastEnders

EastEnders legend Barbara Windsor isn’t quitting showbusiness when she leaves the soap next year.
The BBC announced yesterday that soapland’s best-loved landlady would be waving goodbye to Albert Square after 15 years.
But shortly after, Windsor’s Agent told BBC News that the actress had no intention of bidding farewell to showbiz.
"Oh no, absolutely not, can you imagine that? Anyone who knows Barbara knows what she's like," he said.
That said, all we want to know now is who’s going to yell ‘Get outta my pub’ when Peggy leaves? The Queen Vic just won’t feel the same.
And fans of the show won’t be the only ones to feel a little aggrieved at losing one of the show’s best characters. Barbara will too.
Wonderful character
She said: "EastEnders has been wonderful to me and it's no secret that it changed my life all of those years ago. I'll be so sad to leave Peggy behind; she's such a wonderful character to play.
“I have had the pleasure of working with a marvellous cast and crew and have made many lasting good friends.
"I would like to thank the BBC for the incredible opportunity they gave me and, above all, I must thank the wonderful viewers for their support over the years.
“To have had the honour of showing the Queen around the set is something that will stay with me forever."
High points
Other high points of Barbara’s EastEnders career came in 1999 when she was awarded an MBE and just six months ago she picked up a Lifetime Achievement Award at the British Soap Awards.
And in true Barbara fashion, she left us with a cheeky final quip about her husband Scott, who's 25 years her junior.
“I'm looking forward to the future and I suppose when all's said and done, I should spend a bit more time with my old man, as he's not getting any younger."
