Archie Mitchell murdered on Christmas Day
Thursday, 15th October 2009.
EastEnders wouldn't be the same without an absolutely sensational episode to keep Christmas Day viewers hooked.
So producers are reportedly planning to rock Albert Square again this year by killing off one of the show's major characters - Archie Mitchell.
The soap baddie - played by Larry Lamb - will be murdered and his body discovered in the Queen vic on Christmas Day.
And just like the "Who shot Phil Mitchell" storyline kept fans glued to screens in 2001, the "who killed Archie" plot will lead to another whodoneit situation.
Several of the show's key characters will come under suspicion, especially those who've had recent run ins with Archie.
Daughters Roxy and Ronnie, nephew Phil, and maneater Janine Butcher are just a few key characters the police will have their eyes on.
And it looks like Archie will be ruffling even more feathers in Walford in the weeks leading to his death.
An 'Enders insider told The Sun: "Over the next few months he is set to get even worse - so it's fair to say he's made enemies of enough people who'll be glad to see the back of him."
Wonder who the culprit will turn out to be?
