ITV launches one-stop Corrie shop

Tuesday, 27th October 2009.

ITV has opened its first ever online store totally dedicated to flagship soap Coronation Street.

Linked from the official Coronation Street Website - which features episode previews and exclusive video - the online store will sell a broad mix of Corrie themed merchandise.

Perfect timing if you're stuck for what to buy someone for Christmas and they just happen to be a massive fan of the show!

As well as being able to sign up for a regular Corrie newsletter and enter exclusive competitions, you can buy DVDs, calendars, books, stationery, board games and even a Coronation Street Jigsaw!

Director of home entertainment and digital at ITV Studios Global Entertainment Steve Gallant said: “Coronation Street will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2010 and remains the nation’s most watched, and loved, television drama.

"It made perfect sense to put the masses of quality Corrie products at the finger-tips of the millions of Corrie fans around the world, in what is, the first-ever official Coronation Street one-stop shop."

Coronation Street's official website ITV.com/Corrie celebrated record visitor numbers in September with more than 742,000 flocking to the site.

This is an increase of 140 percent on last year and Kate Bradshaw, the deputy managing director and head of online commissioning for ITV.com, is really optimistic: "We’re very excited to be launching the newly created and branded Corrie store today," she said.

"Bringing together an extremely compelling mix of Corrie video, entertainment, news and shopping all in one place - the perfect destination for all fans."
