Reg Holdsworth to make Corrie return?
Thursday, 13th November 2008
Coronation Street legend Ken Morley has revealed he would love to return to the show as colourful supermarket manager Reg Holdsworth.
The actor - now 65 - played the rainbow-coloured glasses-wearing Reg from 1989 until 1995.
And he revealed to the Press Association that he is keen on a Street return but only "if there's room for a 65-year-old good-looking fella".
Ken was attending the launch of the Coronation Street: Out Of Africa DVD at the weekend when he told PA where Reg went when he left Weatherfield.
"He went off to the east to look after a fish factory," said Ken.
"The last time they saw him, he was in Calais trying to run off with the manager's wife. Unspeakable behaviour!"
But he looks back on his time on the soap with fond memories.
He said: "I had a great time there. I was only there for five years. It seemed a lot longer but I was there for five years."
And when asked if he would like to make a cameo appearance in the 50th anniversary episode in two years' time, the actor said: "I wouldn't mind.
"I could come back as a 50-year-old, if they could roll the cameras back of course, that would be great."
Coronation Street - Out Of Africa is in shops now.
