Antony Cotton hasn't got married... yet
Monday, 22nd September 2008.
Corrie star Antony Cotton was quick to deny rumours that he has secretly married his long-term lover after appearing on Family Fortunes wearing a wedding band.
The actor also set tongues wagging on Saturday's edition of Vernon Kay's hit quiz show by referring to his beau Peter Eccleston's sister as his "sister-in-law".
Michaela Eccleston joined Antony, his mum Enid, dad Paul and an old actress friend on the Cotton family team.
They beat former Hollyoaks star Gemma Atkinson's family to win £10,000 for charity.
But when later quizzed on his marital status, Cotton confirmed that he was still a Bachelor, insisting he only meant "sister-in-law" as a figure of speech.
All Star Family Fortunes
He was more interested in talking about the show itself though, saying: "I quite literally had the time of my life on All Star Family Fortunes.
"I've watched it all my life and I loved Les Dennis - I even remember Max Bygraves hosting it.
"I've known Vernon Kay for 10 years and it was a dream come true.
"I would recommend anyone sitting at home and feeling down in the dumps to go on that show - it truly is brilliant fun."
Antony is donating his family's winnings from the show to HIV and Aids charity the Terrence Higgins Trust, of which he is a patron.
He said: "They do brilliant work on raising awareness of sexual health, providing support and rehabilitation to those who need it.
"It's a beautiful charity with beautiful people who I love very much."
And if you thought he'd swerved the wedding ring issue, Cotton's spokesman later added that he always wears the ring on his wedding finger.
Ooh Antony you sneak you!
