BB9 - Sylvia Barrie

Sylvia Barrie came to the UK with her family aged 11, when the war started in her native Sierra Leone.
Describing herself as feisty and ambitious but soft on the inside, she is equally at home in church or a shopping mall. Sylvia says religion plays a very important part in her life.
She believes in God, goes to church every Sunday and prays before she goes to bed every night.
She is currently studying English Literature and Psychology at Derby University, but would ideally like to pursue a career as a singer and says she has a good voice.
Sylvia gives herself 5/10 for intelligence and 8/10 for looks, but says the only thing she doesn’t like about herself are her wrists as they are too skinny.
The Colour Purple
Very sociable, she likes to go out to bars, and go clubbing, but also loves reading, with her favourite book being The Colour Purple.
Her favourite comics are Alan Carr and Russell Brand, and favourite television shows include Scrubs, Friends, The Simpsons and Family Guy.
She gets angered by “unclean individuals, aggressive people and negativity” and admits that her face can be a bit “scowly” at times but is trying to change this.
Sylvia applied to Big Brother because she wants to take part in the fun and everything that Big Brother throws at housemates, and says she’d be the fearless one in the house.
